Flashback Friday - Mickey's Treat Pumpkin 1995

Friday, September 17, 2010

Lets flashback to 1995.

A few weeks ago I shared some photos from the first Mickey's Treat in 1995, and I mentioned that I remember a giant pumpkin being carved.  I found that picture!

This was set up towards the end of Main Street near Plaza Inn.

Pixar Parade Update

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

Good news! The Pixar Play Parade goes through Sunshine Plaza again.

Woody and Buzz Lightyear Pajamas

I don't know about your kids, but my son is really into the characters from Toy Story. He hasn't seen any of the movies yet, but he has seen Woody, Jessie, and Buzz at Disneyland. Whenever we walk by a Woody doll, or see a picture of Woody on a billboard, t-shirt, or bag he  points at him and calls out Woody. One of his first words was Woody, so when we went to the Disney Store recently I knew I had to buy these Woody pajamas for my little guy.

Aren't these pajamas great? These are $14.50 each or two for $22. We ended up buying both the Woody and Buzz Lightyear pajamas, and he loves wearing both. If you have a little one that will not be trick-or-treating this year, but will be along for the ride, you could use these as their Halloween costume. The smallest size is 2, but I think they run a little small.

As of right now, The Disney Store online doesn't carry these, but I went to two different Disney Stores in my area and both had plenty.

Diaper Kits at Disneyland

Monday, September 6, 2010

Recently I was headed out of Disneyland after a long day enjoying the park, and decided to do a diaper change before hitting the road. While I was changing my son's diaper, I looked at the diaper kit dispenser hanging on the wall next to me that I had seen many times before. I've never really paid much attention to the diaper dispenser because so far I have never run out of diapers or supplies, but this time it had me thinking… what exactly is in those diaper changing kits?

The kits are only $1.00, so I was eager to see what you got for that buck. I put in four quarters (it only takes quarters), and out came my packaged little kit.

So, you want to know what's inside as well? Let me show you.

You get:

•1 Paper Changing Pad
•1 Large Pampers Diaper 27 lbs+
• 4 Baby Wipes
•1 Purell  Hand Sanitizing Wipe
•1 Packet of Boudreaux's Butt Paste
• 1 Coupon for $1.00 off Boudreaux's Butt Paste
•1 Small Disposable Plastic Bag

I was surprised how much you got for that dollar, and I think it's an excellent deal.
You can also buy diapers (of all sizes), wipes, baby food, formula, and more at the Baby Center located inside Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
The Baby Center inside Disneyland is at the end of Main Street near the Corn Dog Cart, and you'll find the Baby Center inside Disney California Adventure  located in the Pacific Wharf area next to the Mission Tortilla Factory.

Now if you run out of diaper changing supplies, you know where you can go.

Halloween at Roger's Gardens

Friday, September 3, 2010

One of my favorite nurseries in Southern California is Roger's Gardens.
Besides having a nice selection of plants for my garden (their 6 packs and 4" plants are cheaper than some other local nurseries), they also have great home decor that I always enjoy looking at.
My favorite time of the year to visit Roger's Gardens however is Halloween and then Christmas.
For both holidays they go over the top to decorate and bring unique items for you to purchase.

I was able to get a sneak peek at their Halloween preview sale, and I took some photos with my mobile phone to share with all of you.
This year the theme is called "Funn & Gaems Toy Factory".

Each year I always look forward to seeing what they will come up with because it's never the same. Last year they had a mad scientist room and an old carriage parked out front. This year I was happy to see a  small duplicate of "It's a Small World", with a working clock face rocking back and forth. The whole thing is solid black, with a sign to the left saying "Toy Factory".

Once I entered, I was greeted by a ventriloquist dummy sitting on a bunch of giant dice scattered about. He also makes a couple more appearances throughout the store, at one point he looks to be in danger.

There are several rooms each cleverly displayed with a theme. They have Halloween goodies for everyone, the creepy, the cute, the glittery, and more spiders, crows, and pumpkins then you know what to do with.
If you've never been and you love Halloween, then you will love this place.

With lots of real pumpkins (that you can purchase) gathered in piles all over the place, it's hard to not get in the mood for Halloween.
They also have a nice selection of fall plants right now too. I'll be planting orange and chocolate Rudbeckias in my garden this weekend.

Funn & Gaems Toy Factory opens today September 3rd.
