Let Your Little Ants Cool Off at Princess Dot Puddle Park in Disney California Adventure

Friday, April 29, 2011

With the warmer weather we've been having lately, we've been spending a lot of time over at Princess Dot Puddle Park in Disney California Adventure.
Make your way into A Bug's Land, and shrink down to the size of an ant as you walk through a giant cereal box.
Once you make your way to the other side of the cereal box you will find a land where bugs rule!
Straight ahead is Princess Dot Puddle Park, a water play area for all your little ants to cool off.
Your little ants can run around with fountains of water shooting all around them. Watch out for that giant sprinkler left on by a human. It leaks water too.
If you don't want to get wet, there are Popsicle stick benches for you to sit on.

Around the corner on the other side, you will find the hose that the sprinkler head is attached to. Watch out above as it leaks down the pole.

Here are a few of my tips for you, if you plan on going:

•Your little ant must be clothed at all times including shoes. If you take your little ant's shirt or shoes off, you will be asked to put them back on.
•Pack a pair of Crocs or flip flops for your little ant to wear. They dry fast when done.
•Bring a towel and a change of clothes with you because your ant will get wet... in my little ant's case... soaking wet.
•Pack a plastic bag to put all the wet clothes in when done.

When it's really warm outside, this is a very popular spot to hang out.
So next time you're at the Disneyland Resort, and your little one needs to cool off remember Princess Dot Puddle Park. As you can tell on my little ant's face... it's a hit!

*Did you know Princess Dot Puddle Park is one of the stops on the Gowalla trip "For Little Ones at Disneyland" by Magical Days with the Mouse? If you check in to each spot on the trip, you may be one of the lucky readers to win a prize for completing. Click here to find out more.

Thank You Facebook Giveaway!!!

Yesterday I hit 200 fans on the Magical Days with the Mouse Facebook page.
To celebrate I want to thank everyone who is following on Facebook, so I'm giving away this Mickey Mouse and Disneyland mug.
This mug is very simple, with it saying Disneyland Est. 1955. The best part? Reading "To all who come to this happy place: welcome!", on the rim each time you take a sip from this mug.
This Mickey is similar to the Mickey I use in Adventures with the Mouse, so if you choose you can have your own adventures with him too.
So are you interested in winning both of these? It's really simple... become a fan of the Magical Days with the Mouse Facebook page if you're not already.
Once at the Facebook page find the photo below here (<--- click for direct link to photo), and leave a comment that you want to win the giveaway.
That's it.. one comment on Facebook under the photo, and you are entered for a chance to win it.
This giveaway will end Sunday May 8, 2011 at 11:59 PST.
The winner will be announced on Monday May 9th.

To all my Twitter followers... have no fear... I will be doing a different giveaway on there too once I hit 1000 followers.
So please spread the word, and let your friends and family know about Magical Days with the Mouse too.
Thank you, thank you!

Adventures with the Mouse #4

Thursday, April 28, 2011

Mickey had an exciting day last week. He brought his pal Woody along with him to Disneyland, and they both caught a glimpse of the new Mickey's Soundsational Parade while they were filming for a commercial.
On their way out they stopped to admire the beautiful hydrangeas by City Hall.
Next up they headed over to Disney California Adventure for a ride on Mickey's Fun Wheel.

They had fun watching the roller coaster go by and seeing all the construction happening around the resort.
Mickey had Woody pose for a picture in an Autopia car. The Little One is a bit of a crazy driver, so they held hands hoping for a safe ride.
Before heading home Woody wanted to pose for a picture with his pal Mickey.

And Mickey's adventure continues with Michelle. Michelle is from Twitter, and she contacted me after seeing my Adventures with the Mouse series. She wanted to know where she could get her own Mickey. She had a trip to Disneyland last week, and had her own adventures with not only Mickey but Minnie too.  She posted a few photos on the Magical Days with the Mouse Facebook page, and sent me a few more to share on my blog.
Here are a few of her photos:

How fun are those?!
Want to join in on the fun? Submit your photos to the Magical Days with the Mouse Facebook page. I will then put all the photos submitted into a permanent folder on there. Make sure to leave a twitter name if you have one, so I can list it with your name on each photo.
Don't have a Mickey or Minnie? Feel free to post your Duffy or any Disney/Pixar character photos too.

Thanks to Michelle for joining in on the fun. You can find her on twitter @Harvickfan005

Going to Disneyland soon? I'm having a contest using the phone app Gowalla. You can win a small prize bought from Disneyland. You have until August 31, 2011, so if you are planning a trip make sure you get the details here

Missed any of Mickey's adventures? You can find the rest of Adventures with the Mouse here.

Win a Prize for Completing a Gowalla Trip with Magical Days with the Mouse at Disneyland

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Back in November 2010, Disney teamed up with the mobile social networking app Gowalla.
If you are unfamiliar with Gowalla, it's an application on your phone that you use to "check in" to the locations you are at.  You can then let your friends know where you are through the app, on Facebook, and on Twitter. Of course if you don't feel like letting everyone know where you are, you can opt out of publishing it on Facebook and Twitter
Disneyland and Walt Disney World both have created special "trips" for you to check in to. For example at Disneyland there is a "Entertainment Park Hopper" trip for you to complete. The spots include World of Color, elecTRONica, Disney's Aladdin, Pixar Play Parade (no longer running), Fantasmic, Celebrate! A Street Party (also not running), and Believe in Holiday Magic Fireworks (also not running). If you check into each of these locations, then you get a virtual trip button to keep at the end.
Although this application is mostly used for fun, you can win real stuff too. One weekend in early March, if you checked into elecTRONica you were given a real Flynn's arcade coin and a free coca-cola voucher.

Now I would like to add to the fun of Gowalla. I have made a trip called For Little Ones at Disneyland.  I have picked 12 spots that are my son's favorite spots to frequent. Although he is two, my trip can be enjoyed by all ages.
But here's the catch... I will reward the first person* to complete the trip with photographic evidence.
My 12 spots include:
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
It's a Small World
Big Thunder Ranch
Disneyland Railroad
Disneyland Monorail
Monsters Inc. Mike & Sully to the Rescue
Heimlich's Chew Chew Train
Princess Dot Puddle Park
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
Goofy's Playhouse
Casey Jr. Circus Train
and King Arthur Carrousel

Now for the rules:
Besides checking in (yes you have to download Gowalla and check in to each spot), I also want photographic evidence. Anyone can just walk up to the attraction and check in without riding it. I want pictures of either you, your children, or your favorite toy on that attraction.
You don't have to show me your face. A picture of your child's back on the Disneyland Railroad will work just fine.
King Arthur  Carrousel
Casey Jr. Circus Train
Big Thunder Ranch
Woody at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
Princess Dot Puddle Park
Once you finish your trip, take a screen shot of your completed Gowalla trip and send me that picture along with your 12 photographs from each spot.

You can either post your pictures in 3 different ways:
•On a blog and link back this post
• Post your pictures on the Magical Days with the Mouse Facebook page
•Tweet them to me on Twitter @MagicMouseDays

The first person to post them in one of those three formats wins the first prize.
But wait... there's more. Because I know not everyone can get to Disneyland right away, I will also pick a second winner by random. org who completes the trip by August 31, 2011. That gives everyone who is visiting Disneyland for the summer a chance.

What do you win? A random prize selected by me from Disneyland. It's cash value will be no less then $10, but it could be more as I like to shop. The prize will be determined by if you are a passholder or not. I have a prize in mind for passholders, but it would be of no use to a non passholder. Either way, it's a prize from the Disneyland Resort.
The point of this is to just have a good time with us.
Have fun and good luck!

You can download Gowalla here

*Please note that members of DLRNetwork are excluded to win the first place prize, but can be entered in the random drawing for the second prize.
