On the Black Carpet at the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides World Premiere

Sunday, May 8, 2011

Ye come seekin' adventure with salty old pirates, eh? Sure you've come to the proper place.
The World Premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides was at Disneyland on Saturday.
Fans lined up late Friday night for a chance to see and meet Johnny Depp in person. Once Disneyland opened Saturday morning many claimed their seats on the bleachers provided for viewing all along Main Street.
Shortly after 4 P.M. the festivities began with pirates entertaining the crowd by juggling swords, balancing on cannon balls, walking on stilts, and riding a unicycle up and down the black carpet. Everyone cheered with their Mickey pirate ears on, that were given to them while they waited for the black carpet to start.
Around 5:30 P.M. the celebrities took to the carpet, many of them taking extra time to make sure and sign as many autographs as they could for the fans.
Eric McCormack was one of the first to arrive.
Shortly after it was a sea full of celebrities and guests who paid for a ticket to see the World Premiere,  that 100% of the proceeds went directly to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Join me now on the black carpet as we see...

Johnny was escorted with suits surrounding him, as he made his way down the fan side. He made sure to sign autographs and shake hands without ever turning around once to the media. Luckily I had someone on the fan side too, who got me these two photos of him.
Once Johnny Depp was done signing autographs the black carpet cleared out quickly.

Interactive Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Finds

Friday, May 6, 2011

With the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides movie premiere happening tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to highlight a couple of activities you can find on the official Pirates of the Caribbean Facebook page and website

Turn yourself or your children into pirates with the Pirate Yourself App
Upload a photo, and then chose from different hats, facial hair, makeup, jewelry, and accessories to make yourself apart of Jack's crew.  Create as many photos as you would like because it's FREE!

You can also find a Skull Creator App
This is just like the Pirate Yourself App, but there is a skull provided for you to accessorize.

On the official Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides website there are many interactive things for you to look at, but my favorite is the activities page.
Here you can make some pirate goodies with your young ones including Jack's Bandana, Belt, Jack's Jolly Roger Flag, Edible Eyeballs,  Aztec Coin Medallion, Pirate Cookies,  "The Code" Journal, Captain's Compass, Liar's Dessert Dice, and a Pirate Tricorn Hat.

Of course there is much more to explore, so make sure you go through both to get your pirate fix before the new pirates movie hits theaters on May 20th.

If you have Twitter, tomorrow during the Pirates of the Caribbean World Movie Premiere at Disneyland, Jerry Bruckheimer will be tweeting live from the black carpet.
You'll also want to follow @DisneyPirates for a chance to win cool pirate prizes during the live event.
I won't be giving away any cool prizes but I will be tweeting throughout the day, so make sure you are following me too @MagicMouseDays.

Let Your Little Ants Cool Off at Princess Dot Puddle Park in Disney California Adventure

Friday, April 29, 2011

With the warmer weather we've been having lately, we've been spending a lot of time over at Princess Dot Puddle Park in Disney California Adventure.
Make your way into A Bug's Land, and shrink down to the size of an ant as you walk through a giant cereal box.
Once you make your way to the other side of the cereal box you will find a land where bugs rule!
Straight ahead is Princess Dot Puddle Park, a water play area for all your little ants to cool off.
Your little ants can run around with fountains of water shooting all around them. Watch out for that giant sprinkler left on by a human. It leaks water too.
If you don't want to get wet, there are Popsicle stick benches for you to sit on.

Around the corner on the other side, you will find the hose that the sprinkler head is attached to. Watch out above as it leaks down the pole.

Here are a few of my tips for you, if you plan on going:

•Your little ant must be clothed at all times including shoes. If you take your little ant's shirt or shoes off, you will be asked to put them back on.
•Pack a pair of Crocs or flip flops for your little ant to wear. They dry fast when done.
•Bring a towel and a change of clothes with you because your ant will get wet... in my little ant's case... soaking wet.
•Pack a plastic bag to put all the wet clothes in when done.

When it's really warm outside, this is a very popular spot to hang out.
So next time you're at the Disneyland Resort, and your little one needs to cool off remember Princess Dot Puddle Park. As you can tell on my little ant's face... it's a hit!

*Did you know Princess Dot Puddle Park is one of the stops on the Gowalla trip "For Little Ones at Disneyland" by Magical Days with the Mouse? If you check in to each spot on the trip, you may be one of the lucky readers to win a prize for completing. Click here to find out more.
