Mardi Gras Family Fun Weekends at Disneyland

Friday, February 18, 2011

The Mardi Gras Family Family Fun Weekends started today at Disneyland, but instead of finding it at the Festival Arena like the past couple of weekends, it's now located in New Orleans Square.
Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy are dressed for Mardi Gras, and they led a cavalcade starting in the Court of Angels, with the help of the Jambalaya Jazz Band around New Orleans Square several times throughout the day.
Goofy, Donald, and Pluto stay behind after the cavalcade to dance along with the band, pose for pictures, and sign autographs.

Mickey and Minnie head back to the Court of Angels for a meet and greet.
They also take turns sharing the Court of Angels with Chip and Dale.

Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen has a cart with beignet kits for sale, and there is another cart across the way for face painting.
Our favorite part about the Mardi Gras weekends besides the character meet and greets, is Princess Tiana's Mardi Gras Celebration.
We really missed this show, when the Princess and the Frog came out. It's not the entire show like before, but it still has many of the catchy tunes we all love from the movie.
I couldn't help but sing:

"You got to dig a little deeper
Find out who you are
You got to dig a little deeper
It really ain't that far"

...the whole rest of the day. Yep it's stuck in my head again. ;)

Mardi Gras Family Fun Weekends in New Orleans Square continues through this Sunday 10:30am - 5pm,
and again the next two weekends February 25-27 and March 4-6.

This looks like to much fun! Princess Tiana is Emily's favorite princess right now and she can sing almost every song from the movie - she would love this!

Awesome as always, Sarah.

Hope to get to spend some time doing this myself in the next couple of weekends. :)
