Halloween at Big Thunder Ranch in Disneyland

Halloween has arrived at the Big Thunder Ranch.
In a previous post, I talked about how you can visit the goats and hide away in Miss Chris' Cabin to color. It's a nice place to take a break on a busy day at Disneyland. We spend a lot of time here, as my son is a big fan of this area. I did warn that once Halloween and Christmas arrived the area would be transformed, and the cabin would no longer be a spot to color. As promised it has been moved, and I'm here to share with you what Big Thunder Ranch looks like during the Halloween season.
Pumpkins and autumn decorations now line the outside fence of the goats petting area. If you have a baby or little ones, this would make a cute photo spot for you.
The goats are looking festive with their Halloween scarves, and one  was even dressed like a scarecrow.  On a side note... don't be fooled by that rope near the goat. It's part of a fenced off area only the goats are allowed. He is not tied down. All goats roam freely.
My absolute favorite part about the ranch this time of year is the pumpkin carvers!
I like to make it out 2-3 times a week during this time of year, so I won't miss any of the pumpkins being carved. Depending on how much of the pumpkin is carved, some last weeks while others only a few days before they get moldy.

Enter Miss Chris' Cabin, and you'll find the whole inside decorated with plenty of photo opportunities for your group.

Now the coloring area has been moved outside past Miss Chris' Cabin. There is a station set up with bat finger puppets and coloring sheets, that also come with costumes to add.
Once you grab your coloring item of choice, you can take a seat at a table with a basket full of crayons and color your heart out. If you are lucky, you may just get to color with Jessie or Woody.
And of course they also pose for pictures and sign autographs over in this area too.
I just love when Halloween takes over at the ranch because not only does it brighten the area up, but it also means Santa and his reindeer are not far behind too.
On your way out, hang a right for another photo op area.

Oh, that goat does not look happy. Someday I hope to see this in person. Thanks.

This is one of my family's favorite areas at the park during Halloween. The carved pumpkins are INCREDIBLE! Great post. :-)
